ABUJA, NIGERIA – The narrative of African resource management is undergoing a fundamental shift from competition to collective development. From June 23-25, 2026, the State House Conference Centre in Abuja will host the 5th edition of the African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS 2026).

This milestone anniversary summit, themed “One Africa. One Resource Vision,” moves past traditional dialogue to institutionalise a new era of economic interdependence.

At the heart of AFNIS 2026 is the 3rd high-level ministerial and CEO roundtable that will unveil the Mutual Assured Development (MADE) Framework. Far from a declaration, the MADE framework is being championed by the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG), an intergovernmental organisation established in January 2024 with 19 founding member states and 12 collaborating African countries.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria represented by the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Alake is the Current Chair of AMSG and H.E Moses Micheal Engadu is the Secretary-General of AMSG. This high-level backing underscores the summit’s impact, as the continent’s leaders converge to lay the foundation for a “strategic leap” to a future of collective economic assurance.

The Summit bridges the gap between ministerial vision and private sector execution. The Technical and Investment Day will focus on “Project Readiness,” featuring sessions on AI-driven exploration technology and structuring Debt-for-Industrialization Swaps. Specialised “Bilateral Rooms” will allow investors to engage in one-on-one discussions with both nations and private sector participants to secure mutual partnerships.

By integrating mining, oil and gas, and power through the lens of mutual development, AFNIS 2026 is building the financial and regulatory architecture for a truly integrated African industrial future.
