Admassu Tadesse, Group President and Managing Director of the Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB), has been named recipient of the African Banking Leadership Award at the 15th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2025, held during the ALM Africa Summit London.
Since assuming leadership of TDB Group in 2022, Mr. Tadesse has overseen a remarkable transformation of the institution, expanding its total assets tenfold to $10 billion and positioning the bank as a strategic engine for regional trade, economic resilience, and financial innovation across Eastern and Southern Africa.

His background, shaped by rigorous academic training at the London School of Economics, Harvard, and the University of the Witwatersrand reflects his deep commitment to excellence, innovation, and Africa-centred solutions.
