ABUJA, NIGERIA — Africa’s leading policymakers, industry executives, financiers, and development partners will converge in Abuja, Nigeria, from 23 to 25 June 2026 for the 5th African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS 2026)—a premier continental platform focused on unlocking investment opportunities and strengthening collaboration across Africa’s natural resources and energy sectors.

Taking place at the State House Conference Centre, the summit is expected to attract high-level government delegations, multinational investors, development finance institutions, and technical experts seeking to shape Africa’s evolving resource economy and position the continent for greater value creation in global supply chains.
The 2026 edition, themed “One Africa. One Resource Vision,” signals a strategic shift in Africa’s approach to resource governance—moving beyond traditional extraction toward coordinated industrialisation, intra-African collaboration, and sustainable economic development.
A major highlight of the summit will be the third high-level Ministerial and CEO Roundtable, where government leaders and private sector executives will deliberate on the Mutual Assured Development (MADE) Framework—a policy initiative championed by the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) aimed at promoting cross-border resource cooperation, industrial value chains, and shared economic growth among African nations.
Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Alake, currently serves as Chair of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group, while H.E. Moses Micheal Engadu serves as Secretary-General, reflecting strong institutional support behind the framework and the summit’s policy agenda.
Over the years, AFNIS has emerged as a catalyst for tangible economic outcomes, facilitating more than $500 million in investment deals through domestic capital mobilisation, and helping bridge the gap between policy direction and private sector participation across Africa’s mining, oil and gas, and energy industries.
The 2026 programme will feature a robust lineup of ministerial dialogues, CEO roundtables, technical sessions, and investor engagement platforms designed to translate policy ambitions into bankable projects. A dedicated Technical and Investment Day will focus on project readiness, emerging technologies such as AI-driven exploration, and innovative financing mechanisms including debt-for-industrialisation swaps.
To further deepen industry engagement, the summit will introduce structured bilateral meeting rooms, enabling governments and private investors to negotiate partnerships and explore joint ventures aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and resource-based industrialisation.
For the first time, the 2026 summit will also offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation, providing industry professionals with recognised certification and reinforcing AFNIS as both a policy and knowledge platform for Africa’s resource sector.
As a strategic media partner, African Leadership Magazine, a flagship publication of the African Leadership Organisation, will provide comprehensive editorial coverage of the summit, including exclusive interviews with key speakers, policy analysis, and post-event reporting aimed at amplifying the summit’s outcomes to a global audience of investors, policymakers, and development institutions.
With Africa’s natural resources playing a central role in the global energy transition and industrial supply chains, AFNIS 2026 is expected to serve as a critical convening point for shaping the continent’s next phase of investment, cooperation, and sustainable resource management.
Registration for the summit is currently open, with participants expected from across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
