This year’s Basketball Without Borders Africa event will take place in Senegal on July 28-31, the National Basketball Association and world governing body FIBA have announced. The 17th edition of BWB Africa will be held at the NBA Academy Africa in Saly and the Dakar Arena in Dakar. Nike will outfit the participants and coaches with apparel and footwear.

The event will bring together the top African male and female players aged 17 and under to learn directly from current and former NBA and FIBA players, coaches and legends and to compete against the best young players from the continent.

Previous participants include Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam (2012) and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (2011). Senegal also hosted the event in 2010. In February, the NBA and FIBA announced their plan to launch the Basketball Africa League, a new professional league featuring 12 club teams from across Africa scheduled to begin play next year.
