COVID 19 Tests Compulsory for Corp Members

All prospective corps members are expected to undergo compulsory COVID-19 tests as ordered by the Federal Government of Nigeria. This follows the announcement of the reopening of all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps scheduled for November 10, 2020.

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, passed on this information at a briefing on the current state of affairs in the battle against the pandemic. Orientation camps were shut down in March during the early days of the virus in order to prevent and cut its spread.

Aliyu said: “We have developed guidelines with the NCDC (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control) and the NYSC in preparation for the reopening of the orientation camps on November 10, 2020.

“The PTF has also arranged additional safeguards to include the testing of all corpers and staff in the camps for COVID-19 tests prior to commencement of the orientation programmes.”

It comes as a relief to see the country gradually easing back to its normal state.
