Ethiopia Celebrates Enkutatash – Gift of Jewels

Ethiopian nationals today enter the year 2010 according to the Ethiopian Orthodox calendar.

The Ethiopian orthodox calender is approximately seven years behind the Georgian calendar which is predominantly used worldwide.

The celebration of Enkutatash (gift of jewels), as it is locally called is celebrated by family and friends as they come together to spend time with one another.
