The African Leadership Magazine (ALM) is pleased to announce the Ethiopian Customs Commission as the lead partner of the annual ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) Ceremony 2024, slated to be held on February 23–24, 2024, at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a country that occupies a strategic position as the headquarters of the African Union (AU).

The ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) is a flagship annual event of the African Leadership Magazine, which has been held consecutively over the past 12 years, convening policymakers, private sector leaders, civil society leaders, thought leaders, and all stakeholders from across Africa and the rest of the world to discuss issues bothering Africa’s socio-economic growth and development. The event has also become a prestigious platform for honouring people-centred leadership and Africans who are pursuing a pan-African agenda in their chosen fields of endeavour.

The 2024 edition of POTY promises to be bigger and more diverse in bringing together over 300 participants, including policymakers, political and diplomatic leaders, major industry titans, business leaders, and international investor groupings; academics, researchers, and think tanks; international development agencies; and all stakeholders from key sectors of African society.

As an Ethiopian government agency responsible for creating an enabling environment for the facilitation of both national and international trade and foreign direct investments into the country, the Ethiopian Customs Commission is partnering with the African Leadership Magazine to host the ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) 2024 in Addis Ababa in a bid to attract a wide spectrum of African political and business leaders to Ethiopia and showcase the many investment opportunities as well as the ease of doing business in the country.
