Hon. Justice Martha Karambu Koome to Receive African Female Leader of the Year Award at the 12th African Persons of the Year Awards 2024

The Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, Hon. Justice Martha Karambu Koome, has been invited to receive a deserved commendation at the 12th African Persons of the Year Awards 2024 for her accomplishments in the judiciary.

 

Hon. Karambu will be awarded the African Female Leader of the Year for her relentless efforts in improving access to justice, promoting gender equality within the legal system, and advancing judicial reforms to strengthen the rule of law in Kenya. This recognition is also for her role in championing the establishment of the family division of the High Court as well as in transforming Kenya’s court processes to promote justice for women and marginalised groups.

 

This event is scheduled to be held from February 22nd to February 23rd, 2024. With the theme “Building Resilient African Economies,” the forthcoming year’s event is expected to draw in over 300 attendees, including academics, business executives, industry titans, legislators, investors, and representatives of international development organisations.

Also, the event promises roundtable panel discussions, keynote addresses, talks about partnerships and investments, and high-level networking opportunities, among its main attractions. ALM Persons of the Year winners will also receive awards during the ceremony, which will also feature the unveiling of the special POTY edition of African Leadership Magazine.
