Hon. Seedy Sk Njie Gets African Lawmaker of the Year Award in London

London, UK Hon. Seedy Sk Njie, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, has been honoured with the prestigious title of “African Lawmaker of the Year” in recognition of his significant contributions to education, legislation, and oversight in his home country. The award was presented at the 8th edition of the ALM Africa Summit 2023. At The Dorchester Hotel, London, United Kingdom, on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023. With the theme ‘New Opportunities for African Investments, Partnerships, and Collaborations’.

The event brought together Policymakers, private sector leaders, and civil society leaders, amongst others. From across Europe, the US, and Africa to discuss issues concerning the promotion of African trade and investments globally. Some of the speakers that attended the event in London included Baroness Sandy Verma, a member of the UK House of Lords. Lord Dollar Popat; UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Hon. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, and Development, Mauritius. And other political and policy leaders from across Africa, Europe, and the United States of America.

Hon. Seedy Sk Njie was selected for the prestigious African Lawmaker of the Year award by the African Leadership Magazine, UK. The selection process involved a thorough evaluation of his legislative accomplishments. His advocacy for education, and commitment to driving positive change within The Gambia.

In his remarks, he described the award as a reflection of the collective efforts. And dedication of the people of The Gambia. “I share this recognition with my fellow parliamentarians, government officials, and the citizens.
