Kenya Welcome First Female Governors

Kenya successfully elected three females to head the position of governors in three different states. This is the first time in the history of the country for women to head a post normally dominated by patriarchs.

The three women of valor fought tooth and nail to secure the governorship post amidst various torment from their male counterparts.

This is encouraging news to the women society and for gender equality.

The first being Bomet Joyce Laboso of Jubilee Party had a very tough contest with her rival Isaac Rutto but won with 175932 votes which are (67.2%).

The second governor is Anne Waiguru of Jubilee party for the Kirinyaga county, whose rival was Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and she won with159606 votes (54.09%).

And the third governor, Charity Ngilu of NARC for Kitui beat her rival Senator David Musila and incumbent Julius Malombe with 162768 votes which translate to 47.41%.
