Nigeria’s Vice-president Yemi Osinbanjo on Monday revealed that he presently has no plans to contest for the next 2019 presidential election.

He stated this when asked if he considered running for the presidency in the general elections scheduled for February 2019. He replied by saying “None of that is on the cards”

It is also not certain if the president of Nigeria Mohammadu Buhari is going to contest the next election.

In another development, Osinbajo also said that militants in the oil producing Niger Delta region no longer posed a significant threat to oil production.

“We don’t have all the time in the world with oil,” he said, speaking during the FT Africa conference in London. “We have to use oil while it makes sense to do so.”
