South Sudan Army Captures Rebels in Pagak

South Sudan’s army on Monday said it has captured the main rebel stronghold of Pagak near the Ethiopian border, which has been terrorizing residents of the area and has caused thousands of people to flee.

Spokesman Lam Paul Gabriel said the rebel forces were caught after they were raided by the South Sudan army in the early hours of Sunday.

Lam said “We realized it would be costly for civilians and our forces have withdrawn from Pagak,”
