Tunisia’s electric energy project generated is close to becoming the major solar power plant in Europe for a very long time.
The north-African massive solar power project has a capacity of 4.5 GW with 50% under Nur Energie a U.K. Company and 50% for investors in Tunisia and Malta. The project has been segmented into three different parts to export electrical energy with under-the-sea cables to Malta, France, and Italy.
Its first transmission which is a 250 MW HVDC line connecting Southern Tunisia to deliver power to Malta. A 2,000 MW HVDC transmission line to deliver electricity to Italy has also been connected and the transmission line ends in the north of Rome. The third transmission of 2 GW of capacity will end in France.
