Uganda: Landslide Destroys Property Worth Millions of Shillings, Displace Over 200 People

Three sub-regions of Uganda have been greatly affected by a landslide. The landslide has caused the displacement of over 200 people, the death of livestock and destruction of numerous houses including property worth millions of shillings.

According to a district official, the affected villages include; Marobo and Shikhuyu in Buluchecke Sub-county and Nabutsasi in Bumayoka Sub-county.

Fortunately, there has been no record of death, but victims have been forced out of their villages as they travel to nearby villages to seek refuge with their relatives.

Rescue agents and volunteers have been sent to the affected areas to assess the extent of damage, and solutions will be put in place to help the victims get their lives back together.
