Vaccine Donations to Tunisia Likely to Reach 5 Million Doses

The President of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed, has announced that the number of vaccines donated by friendly countries could reach an estimated five million doses in the coming days.

President Saïed disclosed this on a visit to the Governorate of Gafsa, noting that the vaccines will be distributed fairly and according to the needs of each region. His visit was to closely monitor the installation of a field hospital for patients COVID+ in the covered sports hall of the city as he explored possibilities of what could be done to provide quality treatment.

The President noted that it is imperative to reform the public health system of the country. According to him, it must be strengthened by all necessary means to be able to meet the expectations of citizens given that health is a fundamental right.

President Saïed used the occasion to appreciate the kind gesture of solidarity and generosity from neighbouring countries and friends who have supported Tunisia in its efforts to fight against the Covid19 pandemic.

Efforts of the present administration of the Presidency have seen the governorate of Gafsa receive resuscitation beds, an ambulance and oxygen concentrators in addition to medical equipment for hospitals in the region.
