Wakjira Amante Conferred with Special Africa Leadership Impact Award at ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) 2026 in Accra

African Leadership Magazine (ALM), a publication of the African Leadership Organisation (UK), announces that Mr. Wakjira Amante, Chief Executive Officer of Acordia Investment Group (Ethiopia), has been conferred with the Special Africa Leadership Impact Award at the African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year (POTY) 2026 ceremony.

 

The award was presented on February 28, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, during a high-level convening of Africa’s political leaders, business executives, and global stakeholders.

The 2026 edition attracted an influential lineup of dignitaries, including H.E. Dr John Mahama, President of Ghana; H.E. Esperança da Costa, Vice President of Angola; H.E. Samuel Matekane, Prime Minister of Lesotho; and H.E. Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, African Political Leader of the Year, alongside leading figures from government, finance, infrastructure, and development institutions across the continent.

 

Mr. Amante’s selection followed a rigorous, merit-based evaluation process conducted by ALM’s editorial board and strategic partners, recognising his leadership in advancing investment-led growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable economic transformation in Ethiopia and across Africa.

 

As CEO of Acordia Investment Group, he has played a central role in positioning the firm as a key investment and development player in Ethiopia, with interests across real estate, finance, and infrastructure. His leadership has contributed to strengthening investor confidence, promoting innovation, and advancing sustainable investment practices aligned with national and continental priorities.

 

The POTY Awards, one of ALM’s flagship platforms, celebrate excellence in leadership across key sectors, spotlighting individuals whose contributions drive measurable impact and sustainable development. The 2026 edition convened an influential network of policymakers, captains of industry, and development partners committed to advancing Africa’s growth agenda.

 

Africa’s investment landscape is evolving, with increasing emphasis on indigenous capital, strategic partnerships, and sectoral diversification.
