Following the unpleasant cholera outbreak in Lusaka, which has killed one and affected a few, the city council recently banned the sale of already-made-food on the streets in order to manage the situation and prevent it from escalating.

All residents have been advised to adhere strictly to basic hygiene practices such as keeping their environments clean, washing hands with soap and clean water after using the toilet, boiling and chlorinating of water for drinking, among others.

The Lusaka City Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, Brenda Katongola, warns all traders to stick to the rules of the ban for the safety of all until health authorities declare Lusaka Cholera free of the outbreak.
