Dr. Bruno Linyiru, OGW, Director General of the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), has been honoured with the African Regulatory Leadership Excellence Award (Agricultural Sector Development) at the 15th ALM Persons of the Year Ceremony held at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.
The prestigious recognition celebrates his distinguished leadership in agricultural regulation, value chain development and sector-wide reform within the Republic of Kenya. Under his stewardship of the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), the institution has strengthened regulatory frameworks for scheduled crops, enhanced market coordination and promoted sustainable agricultural growth as a pillar of national economic transformation.

The African Regulatory Leadership Excellence Award recognises outstanding public sector leaders whose regulatory stewardship advances sectoral development, institutional efficiency and sustainable economic growth across Africa. Dr. Linyiru’s leadership has been widely commended for reinforcing accountability in agricultural governance, fostering constructive engagement between regulators and producers, and positioning agriculture as a strategic driver of industrialisation and food security.
