Mr Admassu Tadesse, Group President and Managing Director of the Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group), will deliver a keynote address at the 2026 International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL), taking place on 24 September at the Marriott Marquis, Broadway, New York, during United Nations General Assembly week. His keynote, on the forum’s theme, “The Global African Alliance: Reimagining Solidarity, Sovereignty & South–South Cooperation,” forms part of the opening plenary.

Mr Tadesse is Chairman of TDB Group’s Executive Management Board and previously led PTA Bank, overseeing its transformation into the present-day TDB Group. He serves on the governing organs of several continental and international financial organisations and has held leadership and board positions across development finance institutions and investment platforms. Under his leadership, TDB Group has expanded its role in supporting trade, investment and sustainable development across Africa.
His keynote follows special presentations by H.E. Ahunna Eziakonwa, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on Africa, and Dr John Panonetsa Mangudya, Chief Executive Officer of Zimbabwe’s Mutapa Investment Fund.
IFAL is a flagship event of the African Leadership Magazine, convened annually on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. The forum brings together heads of state, policymakers, investors and private-sector leaders from Africa and the Caribbean to strengthen trans-regional cooperation, trade and investment.
