Ms Dolly Williams, Founder of Dolly Williams Construction and Realty Company, has been named to the Top 40 African Diaspora Leaders List at the 2026 International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL), held on 24 September at the Marriott Marquis, Broadway, New York, during United Nations General Assembly week. The recognition was conferred during the forum’s Recognitions & Awards presentation, hosted by African Leadership Magazine.

The listing recognises Ms Williams’s decades of leadership in construction and real estate and her role in advancing minority- and women-owned businesses in New York City.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Ms Williams co-founded A. Williams Construction in Brooklyn, New York, in 1979, building it into a multimillion-dollar general contracting and construction business. The company was among the first minority- and women-owned firms certified by New York City, and received the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Contractor of the Year Award, among other honours. Ms Williams has served as a member of the New York City Planning Commission since 2002.
IFAL is a flagship event of the African Leadership Magazine, convened annually on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. The forum brings together heads of state, policymakers, investors and private-sector leaders from Africa and the Caribbean to strengthen trans-regional cooperation, trade and investment.
