ACI, Faan Sign MOU to Boost Manpower

The Airport Council International (ACI) and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Montreal, Canada, for manpower development.

The signing ceremony which was handled by the Director General of ACI world, Angela Gittens and Saleh Dunoma, Managing Director of FAAN, was an outcome of the recently concluded ACI Airport Excellence in Safety (APEX) reviews, aimed at identifying and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership’s goal of Airport certification.

During the ceremony, the Managing Director of FAAN said the partnership between FAAN and the Airports Council International would enhance skills, which would be deployed to enhance performance and improvement of facilities in all the airports managed by the agency.

Dunoma also said the partnership would facilitate identification and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership’s goal of airport certification.

According to the Director General of ACI, Nigeria being the largest economy is taking its proper role in championing this critical aspect. She expressed delight in FAAN’s commitment to the realisation of this partnership.

The occasion was witnessed by the Capt. Alkali Talba, Director Safety and Technical policy, Ministry of Aviation, Capt Muktar Usman, Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Head of Nigerian mission to ICAO, Martins Nwafor, General Manager, Airport Planning and Technical Services Ms Nse Ikiddeh, Deputy General Manager Operations, Yusuf Mohammed Kabir and other top management of the aviation agencies.
