The call for nominations marks the first stage of a rigorous four-step, points-based selection process for the African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA). Following the nomination phase, the editorial board conducts an initial review to shortlist the most qualified candidates. This is followed by a public voting period, which allows stakeholders and the wider community to have their say in the selection process. Finally, the editorial board undertakes a comprehensive evaluation of the voting results and supporting evidence to determine the official winners, ensuring a transparent, merit-based outcome that reflects both public sentiment and demonstrated impact.

The African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) is the continent’s premier platform for recognising exceptional corporate practices, impact-driven leadership, and transformative contributions to Africa’s evolving business and economic ecosystem. In alignment with African Leadership Magazine’s unwavering commitment to amplifying Africa’s underreported success stories often overlooked by mainstream global media, the African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) celebrates trailblazing policymakers, captains of industry, influential CEOs, forward-thinking institutions, and resilient brands that set benchmarks in corporate governance, strategic innovation, and sustainable development.

Nominations are open to individuals and organisations across Africa and the diaspora—from business leaders and reform-driven public officials to global champions of African prosperity. Submissions may be made by third parties or as self-nominations.
