African World Airlines has been honoured with the Africa’s Leading Global Connector award at the 15th ALM Persons of the Year Ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.
The award recognises African World Airlines’ (AWA) pivotal role in strengthening regional air connectivity across Africa. Through its extensive route network linking key commercial and diplomatic hubs in West Africa, including Lagos, Abuja, Freetown and Monrovia, AWA has facilitated trade, tourism, corporate mobility and regional integration, contributing significantly to economic growth in the region.

The 15th ALM Persons of the Year Ceremony convened high-level political leaders, captains of industry, policymakers, diplomats and development partners from across Africa and beyond. The annual gathering remains a premier platform celebrating excellence in governance, business, public service and institutional leadership.
