Amir, Cote d’Ivoire President review strategic ties

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held an official talk session with the President of Cote d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

At the beginning of the session, H H the Amir welcomed the Ivoirian President and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and hoping that the visit contributes to promoting the friendly relations and develops cooperation between both countries in various fields.

For his part, the President thanked H H the Amir for the warm welcome and hospitality, expressing his content to visit Qatar for the second time. He also praised the strong bilateral relations and looked forward to further develop the cooperation to achieve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

During the session, H H the Amir and the President discussed means to promote the bilateral relations and develop the cooperation, especially in the investment field, education, infrastructure and agriculture. The talks also touched on the most prominent international and regional issues, especially that related to achieving security and stability in Africa.

The talks were attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers. From the Ivoirian side, they were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the President.

The President of Cote d’Ivoire arrived earlier at the Amiri Diwan where he was accorded an official reception ceremony.

H H the Amir and the President also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the two countries.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of an agreement on the establishment of a joint committee of cooperation between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, an agreement in the field of higher education and scientific research, an agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments aimed at enhancing and deepening economic cooperation for the common interest and mutual benefit of both countries, and an agreement on Ivorian workers recruitment regulation.

H H the Amir the President of Cote d’Ivoire witnessed the signing of maritime transport agreement and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and tourism business events.

H H the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet at the Amiri Diwan in honour of the visiting President and his accompanying delegation. The banquet was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and businessmen.
