The Minister of Culture in Egypt, Inas Abdel Dayem, has announced that under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, arts and culture are active elements at the local, regional and international levels.

The Minister disclosed in an interview that she is working to upgrade societal awareness in Egypt within the framework of the presidential initiative Decent Life, given that the political leadership is aware of the importance of archaeological sites in Egypt.

According to Dayem, the ministry has a plan for holding artistic activities in 21 villages across 6 governorates. She pointed out that opening an opera house in the New Administrative Capital boosts the process of enlightenment in Egypt and shows that the political leadership is aware of the cultural dimension in enriching the national product of the Egyptian State.

Further information from Dayem revealed that for the Egyptian-Russian Humanitarian Exchange program year, the Ministry has prepared a major activity in coordination with the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow through the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. The activities in place, according to her, reflect the close relations and cooperation between both countries in different fields.

Shifting the focus to the effects of coronavirus on cultural activities in Egypt and the world, Dayem also noted that Egypt is collaborating with Arab countries to confront the pandemic.
