Ethiopian Air to Purchase Airbus Jets Worth $3 billion

Ethiopian Airlines Enterprise plans to buy 10 A350 wide-body jets worth over $3 billion from Airbus SE to extend business.

According to sources who asked not to be named, the deal is to be announced at the Paris Air Show which will be holding this week. Ethiopian Air will take the mid-sized A350-900 version of the plane, which has a list price of $311 million.

Ethiopian Airline has planned to extend business through a hub-based business by transferring lucrative intercontinental travelers from Addis Ababa to destinations across Africa and back.

The airline did not respond to repeated calls and emails seeking comment. A spokesman for Airbus said it does not comment on discussions with customers.
