Ethiopian President Vows to Uphold Country’s Peace

The President of Ethiopia Dr. Mulatu Teshome, has promised to sustain the existing peace and stability that has been restored to the country after effectively curbing border-related conflicts.

He further explained that the government will do its best to create more jobs and also look into women empowerment.

Speaking at the joint session of the House of Peoples’ of Representatives and House of Federation which held recently, the President in his opening remark stated clearly that “The government annulled the state of emergency following the restoration of peace and stability owing to the wide-ranging and extensive discussions made with the public.” “We should maintain the prevailing peace and stability,” he stressed.

In the same vein, he called for the support of the public, the elderly, religious fathers, traditional leaders, youth, and women, to ensure proper execution of the government’s strategy towards alleviating poverty and resettling people who were affected by the conflicts in Oromia and the Ethiopian Somali states.

He also commended the women for their commendable impacts and contribution towards nation building.
