Gambia: Victims of Flood Receive Aid from Diaspora Community

Following the damages caused by the Kuntaur flood in Central River Region of Gambia, victims have received cash donations from the Gambian Community living in Angola.

In a ceremony held in Kuntaur, representatives of the diaspora community presented the sum of one hundred thousand Dalasis to the victims.

The President of the Gambian Community in Angola, Yaya Jagana said that the response of the community was in line with one of the pillars they had developed to be put into action during cases of natural disasters. The President concluded that he expects a fair distribution of the amount among the victims.

Honourable Muhammed Dawda Touray a member of Gambia’s National Assembly representing Niani Constituency said the actions of the organization should be emulated by other Diasporas community to give the required support needed by citizens of the country.
