Ghana: Government to Provide Text Books for Fresh Students

The finance minister for Ghana, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, has announced that the government will be providing four core text books for all first fresh student at SHS in Ghana. The students will also be provided with one meal a day.

According to Mr. Ken, the government will be considering a rationalization of teacher’s re-deployment in order not to compromise quality, and also a training session will be put in place for teachers at the SHS level.

In addition, the government is also devoting its strength to create advanced inspection and accountability for quality benefits.

These developments and programmes are organized under the review of the mid-year 2017 annual budget, which the government has decided to exert more strategies to achieve a wholesome economy before the year runs out.
