H.E. Ambassador Professor (Mrs.) Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady of Kwara State, Nigeria and Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum, has received a Special Congressional Commendation, presented in conjunction with the 2026 International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL), held on 24 September at the Marriott Marquis, Broadway, New York, during United Nations General Assembly week.

The commendation recognises Ambassador Abdulrazaq’s public service, diplomacy and humanitarian leadership on behalf of women and children across Nigeria.
Ambassador Abdulrazaq has served as First Lady of Kwara State since 2019 and previously held senior diplomatic postings, including as a Director at Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She founded the Ajike People’s Support Centre, a humanitarian platform supporting women’s empowerment, youth development and community welfare, and chairs the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum, which unites the country’s state first ladies around maternal health and gender-equity initiatives.
IFAL is a flagship event of the African Leadership Magazine, convened annually on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. The forum brings together heads of state, policymakers, investors and private-sector leaders from Africa and the Caribbean to strengthen trans-regional cooperation, trade and investment.
