Jim Ovia; Sam Ogrih listed among top 50 real estate developers in Nigeria

Sam Ogrih, a leading real estate developer in Nigeria and the Managing Director of Delta Mega Trend Nigeria Limited, DMTNL, has been listed among the country’s most celebrated real estate developers.  He was unveiled alongside other major real estate moguls by a leading industry publication – Africa Housing News.

While unveiling the list, the publication observed that “It’s a known fact that tons of people are into real estate business in Nigeria, but among the many people sighted in that sector, there are those who have distinguished themselves and keep standing tall in that respected industry.”

The report further described the listees as the “who is who” in Nigeria’s real estate sector.

“In this report, we bring to you, the most celebrated CEOs in the real estate sector over the years. These personalities are the Who is Who and the most respected in that real sector,” the report reads.

Continuing the publication stated that, “Listed in no particular order, these CEOs have demonstrated the indomitable Nigerian spirit that has enabled them to think, organize teams, innovate and build homes, estates, complexes, offices, malls, and other important infrastructures in the country.”

   Mr Ogrih, an award-winning real estate developer, was listed alongside Jim Ovia, chairman of Zenith Bank group and founder, Quantum Luxury Properties Ltd; Chief Olu Okeowo, founder Gibraltar Construction Ltd; Dr Adeyinka Bibilari, developer of the modern Gwarimpa model city and Suncity in Nigeria’s capital Abuja; Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya, MD/CEO RAO Property Investment; Deji Ali, MD/CEO Mixta Africa SA, among others.

Sam Ogrih founded the Real Estate Development and Civil Engineering works company, Delta Mega Trend Nigeria Limited in 2009, with offices now in three states – Delta, Lagos and Abuja. He became Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at the inception of the company.

DMTNL is a proudly Nigerian company and a recognized member of the Real Estate Development Association Of Nigeria (REDAN).

An accountant by training, Sam Ogrih is a fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management. He has attended several local and international courses on Leadership and Real Estate Development from notable institutions including Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Sam Ogrih is a Fellow of Nigeria Institute of Management, Association of University Administrators (UK) and Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management (FISM).

He has been involved in extensive road construction and building since 2000 and contributed significantly to raising the standards of practice in the industry.

Before establishing Delta Mega-Trend Nigeria Limited, he was involved with setting up the Lagos State University Lekki campus where many young Nigerians received a quality education and obtained various degrees.

He has participated in several local and international trade/housing exhibition fairs, where he gave extensive insights into improving housing and real estate development in Nigeria. With his passion, drive and taste for more knowledge in ensuring high-quality standards in all that he does, he was recently honoured with the African Business Leadership Award for Excellence in Real Estate Development and inducted into the inaugural African Leadership CEO’s Hall of Fame in South Africa.

Sam is very interested in providing affordable housing solutions and smart buildings, coupled with excellent customer service delivery.

As an educationist, Sam not only provides strong Leadership to his company employees and associates; he has mentored and continues to mentor many young Nigerians towards channelling their energies into productive areas. In recognition of Sam Ogrih’s outstanding posture as one of Africa’s most distinguished CEO’s who has consistently championed ethical business practices, displayed inspirational Leadership, contributed to economic development in Nigeria, creating employment and redefining the face of the real estate sector in the country, he was meritoriously recognized by The International Advisory Board of African Leadership Magazine, a publication of African Leadership (UK) Limited.

In February 2018, he was awarded the Prestigious African Leadership Business Leadership Excellence Award and inducted into The African Leadership CEO’s Hall of Fame 2018 in South Africa.

In March 2019, he received The Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2019 from The Nigerian National Chapter of CEO Clubs Network Worldwide.

July 2019 was a spectacular month for the company and Sam Ogrih.

He was conferred with Doctor of Science (D. Sc. Hons) In Property Management And Estate Development, Honoris Causa by The Senate of European American University in July 2019.

He emerged the CEO of Real Estate Company of The Year given by The Nigeria Housing Awards at the 13th edition of the Abuja International Housing Show.

He was conferred with the Georgia Congressional Commendation as an Outstanding Citizen by the Secretary of The State of Georgia, United States of America.

An honour reserved for citizens and non – citizens issued vide a resolution of the Georgia Assembly.

He is a philanthropist and passionate promoter of youth development; wealth and job creation in Africa.
