Mr. Sakir Yavuz, Founder and President of ATAFOM University International, Central African Republic, has been honoured with the African Leadership Impact Excellence Award at the 15th ALM Persons of the Year Ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.
The prestigious recognition celebrates his outstanding contributions to higher education development, institutional leadership and cross-sector innovation across Africa and beyond. As Founder and President of ATAFOM University International, established in February 2004 in Bangui, Mr. Yavuz has played a pivotal role in expanding access to quality tertiary education in the Central African Republic. Under his leadership, the university has strengthened academic programming, fostered international partnerships and continued infrastructural expansion, most recently marked by the groundbreaking ceremony for a new university building on June 29, 2025.

The African Leadership Impact Excellence Award recognises visionary leaders whose work drives sustainable development, institutional growth and socio-economic transformation across the continent. Mr. Yavuz’s leadership has been widely acknowledged for integrating education, technology, enterprise and youth empowerment into a cohesive development model. Beyond academia, he has demonstrated extensive entrepreneurial leadership through Perfect Timing Holding, which he has led since 2007, as well as through ventures spanning technology, media, finance and innovation. His stewardship of initiatives such as Perfect Timing Technologies, ConiaSoft and Perfect Timing Crypto Bank SA reflects a forward-looking commitment to digital transformation and economic diversification.
The 15th ALM Persons of the Year Ceremony convened high-level political leaders, captains of industry, policymakers, diplomats and development partners from across Africa and beyond. The annual gathering remains a premier platform celebrating excellence in governance, business, public service and transformative leadership across the continent.
