Nigeria: VP Commissions $1bn Ultramodern Cement Factory in Edo State

Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has recently commissioned a mega cement plant owned by BUA Group in Okpella, Edo state.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, the ultramodern cement factory is an important achievement for BUA Group, and the country’s Cement industry because it will cause the country to be self-sufficient in cement production and also a net exporter of the commodity.

“This marks an important milestone, not only for the BUA Group but also for the Nigerian cement industry and the Nigerian economy in general as we witness the official commissioning of the 3 million tonnes Obu cement plant, as well as the ground breaking of the second line of 3 million tonnes plant.”
