Zimbabwe: Econet Wireless Begins Youth Empowerment Initiative

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is set to upgrade the lives of youths in the country through a youth empowerment initiative.

The initiative is a model of Elevate Virtual Agent Programme (Evap), a sub-unit of a youth empowerment initiative supported by the Econet Group to create 25 000 jobs in the first year. It is to employ youths between the ages of 16 and 24 under the Elevate Club as Virtual call Agents in the prospective visual call center at different areas in the country.

Speaking about the initiative, the Evap programme manager Jonathan Neshana said “The offer is quite simple but intriguing.

Once you register as an Elevate Club member you become eligible to become an Elevate Virtual Agent and thereafter you literally are on your way to potentially becoming your Own Boss,”

“You have a chance to earn your own income while you work from the comfort of your home and you basically set your own working hours and dictate how much money you make every month. “The more you work, the more you hustle, the more you earn,”  “The model rewards you according to the effort you put in”.
