SDG: Ethiopia Takes the Lead

While addressing the 46th World Economic Forum underway in Davos, Switzerland, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, HailemariamDessalegn, has recently said Ethiopia has already started implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ahead of the world, by incorporating it in its second Growth and Transformation Plan.

The minister said Ethiopia which has a good experience implementing Millennium Development Goals launched the Sustainable Development Goals ahead of the effecting date of the date.

The SDGs is a development plan with 17 goals and 169 targets the world has agreed to implement in the coming 15years in order to eradicate extreme poverty.

African leaders on their par have a responsibility to develop their communities and relieve their people from poverty by giving due attention to health, education and agriculture with the finance they obtain from donors, the PM stressed. He called on the international community to fulfill its pledges for the attainment of goals.
