The world bank has donated $50 mln to three agencies of the UN in a bid to curtail the effect of hunger in the region.

The agencies include the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN children’s fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

The World Bank’s support, which is communicated through the South Sudan’s agriculture ministry, has been of immense help in sustaining the aid being rendered to millions of people in this region who would otherwise face starvation.

This support has helped to cushion the adverse effect of famine conditions in this region.
