Following series of requests from the Ugandan diaspora community in the UK for dual citizenship which has posed a problem in the past, the Ugandan government has announced its plans to partner with the Ministries of Internal and Foreign Affairs to ease the registration process.

This was made known in a speech by Rt. Hon Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, during the Uganda UK Convention in London, held on Saturday, 16th September 2017.

“There will be operation centers; one in the Nordic countries, in Washington and one in the United Kingdom, starting April 2018 so that you can get the services from here,” she said.
