The University of Nottingham is UK’s most global University with a footprint in Africa in terms of economic policy research and sustainable building projects. As a world-class University committed to excellence and internationalising, the University of Nottingham recruits top students from over 150 countries. On Friday, 16th June, 2017 the University of Nottingham, UK will host inaugural Africa Summit.

This maiden Africa Summit at the University will provide the platform to advance the communication about the economic wealth of Africa among investors, graduates and top government officials. The Summit will be opened by a lecture on the theme: ‘Where is Africa Going?’ by His Excellency Atiku Abubakar (The Ex-Vice President of Nigeria). Topics for discussion will focus on the ‘High Fives’ of the

African Development Bank which are: Power and Light up Africa, Integrate Africa, Industrialise Africa, Feed Africa and Improve the quality of life of Africans. The purpose of the summit is not to talk about the natural resources in Africa, which we have heard about for too long, but to discuss and debate practical steps needed for Africa and Africans to harvest this potential. The structure of the summit will be a launch by a keynote speaker and then panel discussions of each topic.
