World Bank finances Tunisia-Italy network with $12.5m

The World Bank Group (WB) has signed an agreement with Tunisia to grant the Tunisian government $12.5 million to support the electrical interconnection project with Italy.

The grant funds will be used for technical studies on the marine line project, with the aim to establish a network with 600 megawatts of electricity across the Mediterranean Sea between Tunisia and Italy, with a total cost of around EUR 600 million euros.
