ZIMBABWE: MNANGAGWA SWORN IN AS ZIMBABWE’S PRESIDENT

Tens of thousands of people gathered at Zimbabwe’s National Sports Stadium, to see former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration on Friday.

Former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been inaugurated as Zimbabwe’s new leader, taking over from his toppled predecessor Robert Mugabe. A large crowd gathered to witness a historic transition of power.

Mnangagwa,75, takes over from Robert Mugabe after a 37-year-old stay in power. Ex-President Mugabe turned in his resignation letter on Monday, notifying the Speaker of the Zimbabwean parliament.
