His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Executive Governor of Yobe State, Nigeria, has been honoured with the African Leadership Legacy Award for Governance Excellence in recognition of his exemplary leadership and enduring contributions to good governance, infrastructure development, and public service delivery.

The award was presented at the 16th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2026, held during the African Leadership Magazine Africa Summit in London. The event celebrates distinguished African leaders whose vision and commitment are driving meaningful progress across the continent.
Since assuming office, Governor Buni has championed transformative initiatives focused on expanding critical infrastructure, improving access to essential public services, and fostering inclusive development across Yobe State.
