Mr Shehu Usman Osidi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, has been presented with the Special African Leadership Commendation Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership in advancing affordable housing and expanding access to mortgage finance in Nigeria.

The honour was conferred at the 16th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2026, held during the African Leadership Magazine Africa Summit in London. The awards celebrate exceptional leaders whose work is creating lasting value and contributing to Africa’s socio-economic advancement.
As Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr Osidi has spearheaded initiatives aimed at broadening homeownership opportunities, strengthening mortgage financing systems, and supporting policies that make affordable housing more accessible to Nigerians. His leadership has reinforced the Bank’s role in addressing the country’s housing needs while promoting sustainable urban development.
