Angola: Ruling Party Praises Women’s Active Participation in Society

The Politburo of the ruling MPLA party praises the active participation of women in society in a general way, and particularly in the family, reiterating its willingness to continue developing policies aimed at women’s effective emancipation and promotion.
This comes on statement issued by the MPLA Politburo on Wednesday, in the ambit of the celebrations of the Angolan Women’s Day, marked on 02 March.
The ruling party’s reaffirms its intention to work for gender emancipation by guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities in education and employment, as well as women’s participation in the social, economic, cultural and political life of the country.
“On the day of celebration of 02 March, Angolan Women’s Day, the MPLA Politburo, on behalf of the militants, sympathisers and friends of the party, salutes all the Angolan women (…)”, reads the note.
The Politburo of the MPLA, particularly congratulates the militants in its female wing (OMA) and calls on them to continue mobilising Angolan ladies to join the party’s ranks and contribute to the resolution of the various difficulties faced by the country.
The MPLA Politburo also congratulates OMA on the fact that this celebration happens at a time that the Angolan Women’s Organisation (OMA) is to hold its 6th Ordinary Congress this year, which is to start on 03 March, in Luanda, under the motto “Angolan women, stand firm for equality and social well-being”.
