Huawei Plans Creation of Research, Development and Innovation Centre in Tunisia

The President of Huawei for the Northern Africa Region, Terry He, has announced the creation of a research, development and innovation center which is likely to become an African technology hub in Tunisia.

Terry He, who visited President Kais Saied at Tunisia’s Carthage Palace, disclosed that it is Huawei’s wish to continue supporting Tunisia, especially through contributing to the implementation of the medical city in Kairouan, the creation of jobs and skills training.

According to him, the Chinese company is also committed to building and expanding partnerships with universities and educational institutions for research and knowledge development. Part of the multinational’s contribution will be to equip them with computer labs.

The President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, be appreciated the opportunities for partnership between Tunisia and China. He also gave assurances of his commitment to strengthening the partnership, particularly in the sectors of education, teaching, transport and health.
