Savannah Petroleum Spuds Fifth Well In Niger Drilling Campaign

Savannah Petroleum PLC said Monday that it spud the fifth well of its Niger drilling campaign.

The oil & gas company said that the new well, Zomo-1, as with the others, is designed “to evaluate potential oil pay in the Eocene Sokor Alternances as the primary target”.

Drilling of the well, to a total depth of 2,438 metres, is expected to take between 30 and 35 days.

Shares in the company were trading up 0.7% at 26.88 pence each.
