H.E. Teodoro N. Obiang Mangue, Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, is confirmed to attend the International Forum on African Caribbean Leadership (IFAL) 2026, taking place on 24 September at the Marriott Marquis, Broadway, New York, during United Nations General Assembly Week.
Vice President Obiang Mangue will participate in the Heads of State & Government Interventions, joining senior African and Caribbean leaders for discussions around the forum theme, “The Global African Alliance: Reimagining Solidarity, Sovereignty & South–South Cooperation.”

Appointed Vice President in January 2023 following the country’s 2022 elections, Obiang Mangue is responsible for national defence and state security. Official government records show him actively participating in cabinet and national governance matters in 2026, including the first Council of Ministers meeting of the year and subsequent government activities.
His public responsibilities have also included engagement with national infrastructure, security and government coordination, placing his office within discussions concerning national sovereignty and institutional development.
His participation at IFAL 2026 brings the perspective of Equatorial Guinea to a forum focused on strengthening African-Caribbean connections, sovereignty and South–South cooperation.
