Cameroon Telecommunications company (CAMTEL) has debuted a major investment solar energy plan. The program will have an investment of $2 million for the purchase of solar panels for 31 sites hosting its facilities across the country. “CAMTEL and Living Energy Cameroon, a firm specializing in the installation of solar panels, has just signed an agreement aimed at the project,” reports Star Africa.

The process should result in solar panels to serve over 800 sites scattered all over the country.

The solar panels, according to CAMTEL managing director, David Nkotto Emane, will increase efficiency. This in turn will reduce the costs of phone communication and Internet services.
